A Prayer for the Ephesians (3:14-21)

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole fatherhood in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Ezt az igeszakaszt olvasta fel ma egy Indiana-állambeli lelkész, akinek elfelejtettem közben a nevét.

Azt hiszem, hogy ha gyakrabban hallanék ilyen bátorítást kevésbé lennék kókadozó. Szeretem, amikor felemelik a tekintetem az égre, ha épp blueberry-s hangulatban vagyok.

Különösen a dőlt betűkkel írt résszel kapcsolatos magyarázatára emlékszem: arra, hogy ha a mérce nagyon alacsonyan van, ne is számítsak nagy dolgokra, merthogy nem az a kérdés, hogy meg akar-e Isten áldani vagy sem, hanem az, hogy én mit szeretnék és mennyit kérek tőle.

A szárnyszegő, kedvlankasztó mondatok földretepernek. Az álmok szárnyakat növesztenek s ha hinni merek, akkor repülni is képes leszek.

A "Be realistic"- szerű mondatokat ki kellene tiltani. :D

Vagy úgy kellene érteni őket, ahogy pl. Nóé, Ábrahám, Józsué vagy Dániel, avagy Mária és József értették azt.

Be realistic - like Noah and build the boat when there is no raindrop.
Be realistic - like Daniel and stay calm and pray when there are hungry lions around you.
Be realistic - like the disciple and feed the crowd with 2 breads and 5 fishes.

Légy ilyen módon "realista" - és gondolj nagyot, álmodj nagyot - mondták ma nekem.
